Privacy Policy

Chopta Resort looks after the details you share when you book a cottage, write to the desk, or walk up the meadow path. This page says what we hold, why we hold it, and how to ask us to change it.

01 Our promise

We treat guest information as part of the house — not something to sell. A booking, a WhatsApp note, or a form on this site is used to look after your stay and to meet the law. If a line here is unclear, write before you send a card number or an ID scan.

02 What we collect

Only what a mountain desk actually needs:

  • Name, email, and phone — so we can confirm a room and reach you on the road.
  • Payment details needed to take an advance or a balance. We do not keep full card numbers on paper longer than the bank requires.
  • Travel dates, room type, and notes you send — extra beds, a late arrival, food you cannot eat.
  • A government photo ID at check-in, as Indian hotel rules ask of every adult guest.

03 How we use it

  • To hold and change your reservation.
  • To plan meals, rooms, and pick-ups you asked for.
  • To answer mail, calls, and WhatsApp on the numbers we publish.
  • To send a rare seasonal note if you joined the footer list — two letters a year, not a drip of ads.
  • To keep a guest register the way the local rules expect.
We do not sell your list

Names and numbers from Chopta Resort are not sold, rented, or traded to marketers.

04 Who sees it

A booking may pass through a bank, a payment app, or a trek partner you asked us to call — for example Magpie Eco Tourism. We share the least we can for that job. We also share what a court or a government desk lawfully asks for. No one else gets a copy for their own campaigns.

05 Keeping it safe

Mail, phones, and the register sit with the resort team. We use ordinary locks: limited staff access, careful files, and the same care we give room keys. No mountain office is a vault — if you think something leaked, tell us the same day.

06 Cookies & site mail

This website may use small files so pages load as you left them. They are not used to follow you around the internet. The footer form only stores the address you type, so we can send the note you asked for. You can leave that list by writing to us.

07 Your choices

Ask us to show, correct, or drop a record that is no longer needed for a stay or for the law. ID copies from a past check-in are kept only as long as the register rules require. House rules for the stay itself are on the Terms & Conditions page.
