Everything guests usually ask before a stay at altitude — timings, trails, and what the mountain will and won't give you at Chopta Resort.

still unsure?

Our front desk knows the trails and the weather better than any listing — ask us directly.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 12:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. If you're arriving after a long drive up from Rudraprayag, let us know your ETA and we'll hold your room and keep the kitchen open for a late lunch.

How far are we from the Tungnath–Chandrashila trek?

The trailhead at Chopta is about a 10-minute drive from the resort. Most guests start the Chandrashila summit hike by 6 AM to catch the ridge before the clouds move in — our staff can arrange a pickup jeep the evening before. See also the Tungnath trail notes.

Is Wi-Fi available in the rooms?

We have Wi-Fi in the common areas and reception, but signal at this altitude can be patchy, especially after rainfall. Mobile network is stronger than broadband here — we'd honestly call it a good excuse to log off for a night or two.

What's included with meals and the evening bonfire?

Breakfast and dinner are included with every room, served in the dining hall with mountain-facing seating. The bonfire runs most evenings, weather permitting, with hot ginger tea and pakoras — no extra charge, just show up.

What's your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in. Inside that window, the first night is charged, since mountain roads make last-minute rebooking difficult. Monsoon and heavy-snow dates are always fully refundable.

Can we drive up in winter, and are pets allowed?

The road stays open through most snowfall, though chains are recommended past Ukhimath in January–February — we'll advise before your trip if conditions change. Well-behaved pets are welcome in the Cottage Rooms with prior notice.
